PFC Dwyer Creative Arts Program Application Form
Thank you for your interest in the PFC Joseph P. Dwyer Veterans Creative Arts Program. Presented by the 10 ARTS Foundation in partnership with the New York Film Academy (NYFA), this five-weekend creative storytelling intensive offers a transformative community experience for NYC-based veterans, active-duty service members, caregivers, and military family members. This trauma-informed initiative fosters connection, healing, and creative exploration through immersive, hands-on instruction in the cinematic arts—including screenwriting, directing, cinematography, and acting.
- Saturday 1, July 19, 2025: Creative Foundations
- Saturday, July 2 – July 26, 2025: Craft Intensive
- Saturday 3, August 2, 2025: Team Formation & Pre-Production
- Saturday 4, August 9, 2025: Production Day
- Week 5 (Midweek Evening) – August 13, 2025: Screening & Celebration
Whether participants are first-time creatives or experienced artists, the program provides a supportive and inclusive space to explore personal narratives and engage in collaborative storytelling. The intensive culminates in creating and screening original short films developed and performed by the participants.
The PFC Joseph P. Dwyer Veterans Creative Arts Program will be overseen by Colonel (ret.) Jack Jacobs, 10 ARTS Foundation Trustee; Command Sergeant Major (ret.) Christopher Moore, NYFA Director of Veteran Services, and produced by Professor Jonathan Whittaker, an industry award-winning filmmaker and NYFA Chair of Filmmaking.
